On-Line Accessibility

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 introduced new measures aimed at ending the discrimination manyRandomly selected Ishihara colour blind tests people face in their everyday lives.  This law refers to access to websites as much as to access to jobs, shops and premises.

To us, on-line accessibility is more than complying with an interpreted set of standards.  It is about ensuring your website is usable by as many people as possible, irrespective of whether they are on dial-up, are colour blind, or use a screen-reader.   We have extensive experience in developing accessible learning materials and websites, and have worked with a range of disability organisations to learn how users' requirements meet the W3C WAI Standards.

White-Webs can enhance your website's accessibility and usability, or better still, spend time with your web developers and show them not only how, but why they need to change, enabling them do it themselves.   Helping your company avoid falling foul of the law, while taking advantage of the massive spending power (reported in the UK to be in the region of £40 to £50bn annually; Source: DRC).
